Proposal to file an unfair labor practice against this union is in the works. Cindy Baker, the head complainant will be processing complaints from other employees regarding the cancellation of union dues process. The complaint is based on the convoluted process for stopping one's dues. NFFE uses specific gibberish in its Appendix B of the most recent Master Agreement in order to create confusion regarding it dues cancelling process. The online information is completely different from the present Master Agreement process. Some employees say they have been trying to cancel their dues for this "open shop" union for up to 3 years with no help from the union or the Albuquerque Service Center. Many people say you should the only reason you would need to pay dues is if you're going to do something really stupid and need arbitration. Although much of your dues probably go to union stewards and officers so they can fly around the country, some of it goes straight to the unions desired political party. Contact Cindy Baker at cindyunion@yahoo.com for more information.

Yes, Yes, You're welcome to use it for now. I will give up all rights to the form once my dues have been cancelled. I am sending a copy of my SF-1188 to my Congressman (Merkley), one to ASC, and one to Jim DeMint and Tim Scott. I made every effort to cancel my dues last year. Perhaps it will happen this year. You may even keep last years dues as long as my dues for this year are discontinued in early September. I am going to be sending several copies here and there so folks know I'm serious this time. If you'd like to help ensure that my dues will be discontinued, I will even remove myself from this site.

Several co-workers have decided the dues increase is too much coming the same time as the freeze and would like to cancel their membership. Please mail me a copy of the form needed to opt out and the CORRECT month and day the form is due.

"Several co-workers have decided the dues increase is too much coming the same time as the freeze and would like to cancel their membership. Please mail me a copy of the form needed to opt out and the CORRECT month and day the form is due. " I'm really shocked that the Union has failed to respond to my request for an SF-1188 Cancellation of Payroll Deductions for Labor Organization Dues. I eventually found it but am surprised the union would try to FORCE me to contnue paying dues by putting timelines and limits on my request and by failing to respond to my request for the form. Others are as frustrated as I am.

How do I download a formal grievance form? It does not seem to appear in the menu. I'm from another generation. Maybe it's obvious and I'm too computer-illeterate to recognize. Thanks, John D.

Didn't feel like sending through the mail...ok if I just attach a new page? Is this what the site is for? Editing took a few minutes but this way others will see the surveys too. Let me know if you want me to remove it.

Please let me know if you would like a paragraph or 2 regarding weight management programs (Weight Watchers, TOPS. etc.). If so, I can draft something for negotiation purposes. This topic is mentioned under This was a note from Judy Hall, FS Job Corps Safety and Occupational Health Manager to FS JC leadership. Please address any suggestions in the thread.
Education programs but should probably be specified as a stand alone topic (my opinion). According to the WO Wellness Manager, we can cover weight management programs if our plan includes them. We can cover a portion of the cost of enrollment not to include the meals that may need to be purchased. Will wait to hear from you before proceeding.

It would be nice to see weight mngt programs added to the services that they will help pay for (weight watchers, TOPS, etc..). Also, if something could be added to clarify if 30 min circuit training gyms (curves, butterfly) are considered fitness centers. Especially for those of us that are in remote locations, with little access to full gyms.

Please be advised that at this time...the Union is having serious concerns about this agreement. It appears that DOL can issues changes that affect working conditions and the Centers are to immediately implement. As we have discussed, changes in working conditions regardless of where those changes come from...must be negotiated.
I am very concerned that at the Center level, Center Directors will immediately and in violation of the law try to implement DOL changes. I have raised the issue with Larry Dawson and am the process of reviewing the situation with our legal Council.
Please pass the word...that just because DOL mandates a change...it does not mean that Center management will not have to negotiate. They are still obligated. Make sure you keep an eye on this.
